Building a new generation of networks
For a new generation of unified array data centers and high-performance campus core, you need to lay the appropriate network infrastructure. The modular Cisco Nexus 7000 Series switches provide a comprehensive set of NX-OS features, as well as high-density 10 Gigabit, 4 Gigabit, and 10 Gigabit Ethernet for data center applications with application-aware capabilities and comprehensive performance analysis capabilities .
The Cisco Nexus 7000 Series provides a complete single-platform solution for data center core networks, as well as aggregated, high-density end-of-column and top-of-rack server connectivity. For the campus core deployment, it provides scalable, resilient, high-performance solutions.
The Cisco Nexus 7000 Series platform runs on Cisco NX-OS software. It is designed for most mission-critical deployments in the data center and campus.
The Cisco Nexus 7000 Series is designed around three principles:
Infrastructure Scalability: Virtualization, energy efficiency and efficient cooling, high density and performance all support the flexible growth of the data center infrastructure.
Continuous Operation Capability: The Cisco Nexus design incorporates hardware, NX-OS software capabilities, and management capabilities to fully support a zero downtime environment.
Transmission Flexibility: You can adopt new network innovations and technologies step-by-step in a cost-effective manner.
New technologies that you can support include:
Cisco Overlay Network Transport Virtualization (OTV)
Cisco FabricPath
Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE)
Cisco Locator / ID Separation Protocol (LISP)
Cisco IOS Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)

Network Analysis Module (NAM)
The new integrated NAM introduces application-aware functionality and comprehensive performance analysis capabilities into the Cisco Nexus 7000 Series switches. It provides superior visibility into network and application performance, helping to more effectively manage network operations and services in a unified data center.
Enhanced copper and fiber F2 series modules
The new Cisco Nexus 7000 Enhanced F2 Series (F2e) module helps to take full advantage of Layer 2 and Layer 3 features. They also support multiple features of the unified fabric, such as Cisco FabricPath, FCoE and IEEE 802.1az link encryption, and interoperability with M Series modules in the same virtual device environment (VDC).

Cisco Nexus 7004 chassis
The new 4-socket Cisco Nexus 7000 chassis delivers a compact 7 RU (rack-mount unit) form factor with a switch capacity of up to 1.92 Tbps, providing an ideal solution for small to medium-sized data center cores and edge deployments.
